Adam Scovell is a writer and filmmaker based on The Wirral. He is currently studying for a Masters in Music at the University of Liverpool and will be starting a PhD there later this year in the relationships between music in film and transcendental aesthetics, for which he is the recipient of the Arts and Humanities Research Council grant 2014. Adam writes for a number of publications on film and contemporary art including articles for The Times, The Guardian, Creative Tourist, and over a dozen other publications. He also runs the twice Blog North Awards nominated website Celluloid Wicker Man.

When not writing about film, Adam makes short films, specialising in stop-motion and super 8 work. He has made music videos for Nadine Carina and John McGrath, and has had work screened at METAL Liverpool, FACT, and the Liverpool Everyman Playhouse. He is currently filming a ghost story with performers from The Shiny New Theatre and preparing a film trailer for a play at this year’s 24/7 Theatre Festival.
